With over fifty design professionals our multi-disciplinary studio provides an end-to-end service: from concept design and design development through to documentation and administration. The team at JCB bring together extensive professional experience across a wide range of project types.
Tim’s primary practice focus is client liaison, conceptual design, research and briefing. Working across numerous project types and scales, Tim has developed extensive knowledge and experience in relation to client, stakeholder and community consultation. He has been responsible for the delivery of a number of major residential, commercial, urban design and master planning projects. A particular focus of Tim’s research includes multi-residential and domestic scale housing and the social role and responsibility of architecture and urban design. Tim maintains an ongoing relationship with The University of Melbourne as a guest critic within the Melbourne School of Design.
Jon is passionate about design and practice at all scales. As a natural extension of JCB’s commitment to promoting the public benefits of quality architecture Jon has held a number of advocacy roles in both the profession and education with a particular focus on supporting young and emerging architects. Jon was elected to the role of National President of the Australian Institute of Architects in 2015 after serving as the Victorian Chapter President from 2012 to 2014. Jon has been a member of numerous award Juries and he was a member of the Building Advisory Council of Victoria between 2011 and 2014. Since graduating from Deakin University he has maintained a close and active association with the school, while also guest lecturing at Melbourne University, Monash University and RMIT.
Graham’s responsibilities at JCB run the full range of practice activities from briefing, concept design, sketch design and design development through to contract documentation, administration, cost control, project management and office management. He has been instrumental in the delivery of many residential, multi-residential, institutional, urban design and master planning projects within the office. Graham has a particular interest in projects that engage the public realm and is skilled at stakeholder and community consultation. Graham has been a member of numerous award juries and has also been a guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University.
Heath’s role focuses on guiding the practice’s growth and development through a structured management approach emphasizing closer integration and collaboration.
Heath draws on a background in Landscape Architecture, with extensive project experience in the public and private sectors delivering large scale infrastructure and public realm projects throughout Australia and internationally. A strong leader with qualifications in design, management and business and a keen interest in both Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Heath brings a highly strategic, holistic and analytical approach to his leadership role.
Chris is a multi-disciplinary designer whose role includes overseeing design, documentation control, contract administration, project programming and office management. He has extensive experience as project architect across numerous commercial, multi-residential and institutional projects including Upper House, Icon, Luma, Avenir, Found, Apt, Lume and Avery, amongst others. His management role also includes overseeing forward planning, resource and project performance, while also playing an important role in ongoing staff training and mentoring, professional management and the future development of the practice.
Chris has extensive experience across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. Recent projects include the St Kilda Harbour redevelopment project, which involved a complex stakeholder group, as well as the Arbory Bar and Restaurant on the North Bank of the Yarra River. He is also overseeing a variety of single and multi-residential projects at both planning and construction phases. With a strong focus on client and project team communication, Chris ensures that all projects are delivered to meet and exceed client and stakeholder expectations.
Veryan’s experience spans a broad range of project types, from educational, institutional, recreational, residential, to commercial and urban design projects, with a key interest in the public realm. Her role includes master planning, design, contract documentation and contract administration. A key focus of Veryan’s experience has been in environmentally sustainable design and client collaboration. Prior to commencing at JCB Veryan worked on the design development and model building of Federation Square as well as a series of competition submissions including the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane and the BMW-Werk headquarters in Leipzig, Germany.
Simon has experience in design, documentation and project delivery across diverse sectors, including heritage, education, arts, residential and community sector projects both in Australia and the United Kingdom. More recently Simon has been involved as Project Architect on a number of projects involving complex design, stakeholder and programmatic requirements. Over the last five years Simon has worked across a number of major projects, including the North West Precinct and Monash Club redevelopments as well as a 250 bed Student Accommodation building at Monash University Clayton, the Upper House Apartment development in Melbourne and the Harold St Residence in Middle Park.
Paula is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of a number of crucial business functions within the studio. Coordinating between key members of the JCB team as well as clients and business partners Paula plays a crucial role in the studio’s management, financial operations, administration and HR.
